Furman Claims Lady Paladin Invitational Title

Greenville, S.C. --The Furman Lady Paladin golf team fired a final-round 292 on Sunday to claim its first Lady Paladin Invitational title since 1997. Furman posted a three-day score of 880 to finish four strokes ahead of second place South Carolina and seven strokes better than third place TCU.

Brooke Tull (74-69-69=212) of TCU overcame a one stroke deficit on the final day to claim individual medalist honors with a three-day score of four under-par. Furman senior Leigh Turner (74-68-73=215), the leader heading into the final round, finished second at one under-par. The Lady Paladins' Brandi Jackson (Belton, S.C.) and North Carolina's Ashley Prange tied for third place with three round totals of 216.

Furman sophomore Tiarna Harman (74-77-73=224) finished in a tie for 20th, while freshman Haley Gildea (74-76-75=225) was part of a five-way tie for 23rd.

TCU's third round 287 equalled the lowest single round score in tournament history. Furman recorded a 287 in the second round of the 1987 Lady Paladin Invitational.
