Welcome to BIO 102: Biology and the Environment. This course earns GER credit for "Empirical Studies of the Natural World - with Lab" and "Humans and the Natural Environment". This course is designed as a terminal Biology course; it is not an introductory course for the major, it should not be taken by B. S. candidates in any major, and cannot be taken by students who have taken BIO 111. It is not a 'watered-down' intro course, or a 'baby-bio' course. It is designed for non-science majors who will not be taking additional courses in biology.

This course will examine the properties of living systems, how living systems adapt to their environments, and how living systems create the conditions necessary to sustain life on our planet. There is no textbook for this class. In this abbreviated summer term, you will have enough work using the resources I have provided for this class. There are study notes, ppts, and some video lectures for you to use to learn this material.
