IMAGELIST

e-nubili.jpg (14072 bytes)   Locating  Images of Moth Species Found in North America

A searchable database showing which books and other resources have images of each species. Last updated January 27, 2005 to provide information on 5,538 species.

NEW! I am currently combining the information from two of my websites to provide a "one-stop" resource for moth images. I have long provided a website that leads one to available Web-based images of North American moths (click HERE to reach that site). I am now in the process of taking information from the site you are currently viewing and moving it to the "Moth Images" website. It will take much time to merge the information on these two websites, but I have begun the task. Currently only families Saturniidae, Sphingidae, and a portion of the Crambidae-Pyralidae group have had their Web and book information integrated. If you go HERE you will see how this has been accomplished for families Saturniidae and Sphingidae.

CAUTION: "Imagelist" does not include references to three recently published books, Caterpillars of Eastern North America by D. L. Wagner (2005, Princeton University Press,) Moths of Western North America, by J. A. Powell and P. A. Opler (2009. University of California Press) and a new fascicle of Moths of America North of Mexico, including Greenland (various editors, The Wedge Entomological Research Foundation) covering some of family Geometridae. All species covered by those books will by referenced in the revised "Images of North American Moth Species."
