College of Charleston Volleyball Falls to Furman in Five Games
CHARLESTON, S.C. It came down to the final minutes of the fifth game, but Furman edged out College of Charleston 3-2 (15-5, 11-15, 6-15, 15-5, 12-15). The loss brings the Cougars to 10-7 overall and 5-4 in the conference while the Paladins improve to 11-10, 7-3 on the season.
The Cougars dominated the first game of the match, winning quickly 15-5. But the Paladins came back to take games two and three before the Cougars took game four to send the match into rally scoring. The two teams battled back and forth for the lead with Furman edging out CofC for the win.
Furman was led by Laura Bush, who had 12 kills and Kelly King, who had 17 digs. Three Paladins were in double figures in kills and digs. CofC¹s Stephanie Ballard tallied 23 kills and 13 digs to lead the Cougars. All six starters for CofC registered double figures in digs.
