FURMAN TAKES UNDEFEATED WILDCATS TO FIVE

Greenville, South Carolina--The Furman vollyball team was defeated by Davidson in five games Sunday at Timmons Arena.

Furman took game one from the Wildcats by a score of 15-12. While Davidson controlled games two and three both by the score of 15-7, the Lady Paladins returned strong in game four with a 15-12 victory. Davidson defeated Furman by a score of 15-8 in game five.

The Lady Paladins were led offensively by Kelly King, posting 17 kills and Beth Pyles with a hitting percentage of .500. On the defensive end, Carrie Rowley paced the Paladins with 28 digs, while Kelly King added 22. Davidson totalled 11 team blocks in the five game match to Furman's six.

With the win, Davidson improves to 26-2 overall and 18-0 in the Southern Conference. Furman drops to 14-14 overall and 11-6 in the conference.
