FURMAN VOLLEYBALL WINS HOME SEASON FINALE

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- The Furman volleyball team won its home season finale Wednesday night at Timmons Arena in a 3-1 decision over Western Carolina University.

Furman won games one and two 15-10,15-7 but the Catamounts stormed back to win game three 15-6. The marathon game four ended in a 19-17 decision for Furman.

The Furman squad was led offensively by Carrie Rowley with 19 kills and a .264 hitting percentage, while Kelly King posted 24 digs defensively. In her last home appearance, senior Kristy Wilson added four service aces in the match. Western Carolina was paced offensively by Christy Attebery with 22 kills, while Ashley Minton added a team high 31 digs.

With the win, Furman improves to 16-14 overall and 12-7 in the Southern Conference. Western Carolina dropped to 16-14 overall and 12-5 in the conference.
