WESTERN CAROLINA TAKES FURMAN TO FIVE

Cullowhee, NC - Western Carolina women's volleyball defeated Furman 3-2 to improve their record to 6-9 and 3-1 in conference play.

Sophomore Christy Attebery led the team with 26 kills and 21 digs for her ninth double-double on the season. Also recording a double-double is senior Ramsey Herron with 23 kills and 19 digs. Freshman Jessica Koehler started the game and put down 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .222. She was out with a strain in her right wrist since the University of Memphis Tournament on September 10-11. Freshman Cindy Camp started in all five games and made an impact with 15 digs.

The Lady Paladins were led by Carrie Rowley with 24 kills and 16 digs. Behind her was Brooke Jackson with 20 kills.

Furman falls to 6-10 and 2-3 in the conference. Western will next play at Wofford on October 7 at 7:00 pm.
