FURMAN VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- First year head coach Michelle Young announced the 2000 Furman volleyball schedule on Friday.
The Lady Paladins open the 2000 season Sept. 1-2 at the South Florida Invitational, but will not begin play at home until Monday, Sept. 18, when the Cougars of College of Charleston come to town for a 6 p.m. match. The Lady Paladins will also face The Citadel and Chattanooga at home during September. In addition, Furman will play in the University of Kansas Invitational Sept. 8-9, and at the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., Sept. 15-16.
The October schedule is highlighted by four home Southern Conference matches and an Oct. 24 home contest with Clemson at 7 p.m.
The Furman squad posted an 18-15 record last season, with a 13-7 mark in the Southern Conference. The Lady Paladins return seven letterwinners from that team, including setter Laura Hooks, who was named team Most Valuable Player.
