The Furman volleyball team handed Appalachian State its first Southern Conference loss of the year on Tuesday, in a four game match by scores of 15-10, 15-11, 10-15, 15-11. With the win, Furman joins the Mountaineers at the top of the Southern Conference standings.

The Lady Paladins were led by Laura Bush's 14 kills and 11 digs, while Abby Simon posted 10 kills, 15 digs, and a pair of solo blocks and solo assists. With the win, Furman improves to 4-11 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Appalachian State was paced by Senior Tiffany White's third "triple-double" of the season with 10 kills, 17 digs, and 46 assists. The Mountaineers dropped to 6-8 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Furman will host the Citadel tomorrow in its second home match of the season. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
