FURMAN VOLLEYBALL DROPS CONFERENCE TOURNEY OPENER
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -- The Furman volleyball team dropped a 30-27, 30-27, 30-18 decision to the Mocs of Chattanooga Friday in the first round of the Southern Conference Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Paladins, who finished the year with a 17-16 overall record and a 12-6 mark in the Southern Conference, ended the SoCon regular season as the number three seed in the South. The Mocs, meanwhile, finished second in the league's North Division, and was beaten by Furman 3-1 in a match on Oct. 18. Despite Furman's early exit from the Southern Conference Tournament, the 2003 season marks the 12th straight winning season by a Furman volleyball team.
