NORTHEASTERN DEFEATS FURMAN 3-1 IN VOLLEYBALL
BOSTON, Mass. -- Northeastern University handed Furman a 3-1 loss Saturday night in the finale of the New England Challenge.
NU won game one 30-12, but the Lady Paladins came back to take a 30-28 victory in game two. Game three went Northeastern's way 30-15 and then NU sealed the win with a 30-24 decision in the fourth game.
Furman was led on the night by junior Julia Fredrickson, who tallied 12 kills, and senior Amber Montague, who contributed 11. Freshman Ally Hock topped the FU effort on the defensive side, with 11 digs, while Caitlin White once again topped the Lady Paladin net defense, with three blocks.
Furman went 1-2 in the New England Challenge, losing to Boston College and Northeastern, but posting a 3-2 victory over Harvard.
The Lady Paladins are 4-6 on the season and are back in action this Wednesday, Sept. 17, with a 7 p.m. match at Wofford.
