Ally Hock Named SoCon Volleyball Player of the Week
SPARTANBURG, SC Furman's Ally Hock has been named the SoCon Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of October 20.
Hock, the Lady Paladins' right side, registered 37 kills and 36 digs to lead Furman to conference road victories at East Tennessee State and at Chattanooga. Hock also hit at a .364 mark in the two contests. She tallied 25 kills against ETSU and 25 digs against Chattanooga, both of which were career-highs for the first year Lady Paladin.
A freshman from Oviedo, FL (Winter Springs HS), Hock has played in each of Furman's 25 matches on the season. Also receiving strong consideration this week were UNC Greensborošs LaJean Morrow who registered a career-high 25 kills against The Citadel, College of Charleston's Alisa Long who averaged 3.33 kills per game and hit .365 in the Cougars' three wins, and Appalachian State's Katherine Dean who recorded 43 kills and 12 blocks in leading ASU to a 2-1 record on the week.
