LADY PALADINS FALL 3-0 AT GEORGIA SOUTHERN


STATESBORO, Georgia -- The Furman volleyball team dropped a 30-15, 30-20, 30-20 decision at Georgia Southern on Sunday to fall to 11-12 overall and 6-3 in the Southern Conference.

The Eagles outhit Furman .495 to .154 and rolled behind Martina Veiglova's 19 kills and .552 hitting percentage. By contrast, the Lady Paladins were paced by Caitlin White's nine kills and Whitney Purser's seven. Freshman Kim Tonkin, who is setting in place of Molly Rybak and Michelle Cauldwell, who are out with mono and a broken hand, respectively, recorded 25 assists.

Furman will face the Bucs of East Tennessee State on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. match in Johnson City, Tenn.
