FURMAN VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-0 IN SEASON OPENER

MOREHEAD, Kentucky -- The Furman volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to DePaul in the season opener Friday at the Morehead Invitational in Morehead, Ky.

Furman lost game one 30-20, fell 30-25 in game two, and was swept with the 30-23 deicision in game three. Despite the loss, coach Michelle Young praised the effort of senior middle hitter Julia Fredrickson. “Julia played really solid today, and gave us some good leadership on the floor. We just looked like a team that was starting two freshmen and we will need a little time for everyone to get comfortable.”

The Lady Paladins face Morehead and IUPUI in tomorrow’s action. The Lady Paladins play at Clemson next Wednesday in a 7 p.m. matchup. DePaul def. Furman 30-20, 30-25, 30-23
