FURMAN VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-0 AT COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON


CHARLESTON, South Carolina -- Furman’s Lady Paladin volleyball team fell to 16-14 overall and 11-5 in the Southern Conference with a 3-0 loss at the College of Charleston on Saturday.

Though the Lady Paladins had numerous chances, including a 24-20 lead in the final game. the Cougars never let up and took a 30-22, 30-26, 30-26 league victory. C of C outhit the Lady Paladins .281 to .213 and recorded 8.0 team blocks to Furman’s 6.0.

Charleston was led in the match by Rebecca Wieter’s 15 kills, while Alisa Long added 13 and Stephanie Ballard added 12.

Furman was paced on the day by Ally Hock’s 16 kills, while Amber Montague added 12 and Caitlin White totaled six blocks.

Furman will host Davidson College on Friday in a 7 p.m. match at Timmons Arena.
