FURMAN VOLLEYBALL DROPS 3-1 DECISION TO BOSTON COLLEGE


BOSTON, Massachusetts -- Furman’s Lady Paladin volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision to Boston College Friday night in the New England Challenge.

After falling 30-26 in game one the Lady Paladins evened the match with a 30-23 win in game two. BC stormed back, however, to win game three 30-23 and take game four by a decisive 30-19 score.

The Lady Paladin effort was led by Julia Fredrickson and Amber Montague, who each recorded eight kills. Freshman Whitney Purser totaled a team-high 11 digs, while senior setter Michelle Cauldwell served up five aces.

Action continues on Saturday in the New England Challenge, with Furman meeting Harvard at 1 p.m. and Northeastern in the 7 p.m. finale.
