Furman Volleyball Defeats Wofford 3-1

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Amber Montague (Plano, Texas) and Abby Simon (Simpsonville, S.C.) each had 19 kills and 14 digs as the Lady Paladin volleyball team defeated Wofford 30-17, 34-32, 27-30, 30-20 in Southern Conferene action at Timmons Arena Tuesday night.

The win, Furman's fifth straight in Southern Conference play, improved the Lady Paladins to 10-8 overall and 5-1 in the SoCon.

The Lady Paladins set several season-highs in the four-game match. Furman recorded season bests in kills (79), assists (75) and digs (92). Junior Michelle Cauldwell (Satellite Beach, Fla.) also established a new career-high with 69 assists.

Senior Carrie Rowley (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) who moved into sixth in career digs at Furman on Saturday, contributed 18 kills and 17 digs in the victory over the Lady Terriers. Senior Laura Bush (Kingsport, Tenn.) added 14 kills and 20 digs.

The Lady Terriers were led by Janna Webb's 11 kills and 15 digs. With the loss, Wofford falls to 11-7 overall and 3-3 in the Southern Conference.

The Lady Paladins return to action when they travel to Boon, N.C., to battle Appalachian State Friday night.
