Furman Volleyball Sweeps Catamounts Greenville, S.C. The Furman Lady Paladin volleyball team improved to 13-8 overall and 8-1 in the Southern Conference with a 32-30, 30-21, 30-18 victory over Western Carolina Wednesday night at Timmons Arena. The Lady Paladins were led by senior Abby Simon's 15 kills and 10 digs. Simon, the reigning Southern Conference Player of the Week, recorded a .464 hitting percentage in the three-game match. Junior Amber Montague (Plano, Texas) joined Simon in double-digit kills with 12 while adding 11 digs. Western Carolina, 14-6 overall and 6-2 in the SoCon, was led by Stefanie Peters' 10 kills and 12 digs. The Catamounts also got 10 kills and eight digs from Sara Komosinski. The Lady Paladins, owners of an eight match Southern Conference win streak, travel to Statesboro, Ga., to battle the first place Georgia Southern Eagles at 2:00p.m. Saturday. Furman def.
