FURMAN VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS UNC GREENSBORO Greenville, S.C. Amber Montague recorded 18 kills and a .571 hitting percentage to lead the Furman Lady Paladin volleyball team to a 31-29, 30-27, 30-20 victory over UNC Greensboro Tuesday night at Timmons Arena. Montague was joined in double figure kills by Abby Simon (11) and Julia Fredrickson (10). Simon (Simpsonville, S.C.) also contributed 10 digs, while Laura Bush (Kingsport, Tenn.) added seven kills, eight digs and five total blocks. The Spartans were led by LaJean Morrow with 12 kills and Dawn Bright with 11 kills. Rebekah Faulise recorded a match-high 15 digs for the Spartans UNCG falls to 4-20 overall and 2-10 in the Southern Conference, while the Lady Paladins improved to 14-10 overall and 9-3 in SoCon play. Furman returns to action when it travels to Charleston, S.C., to take on the College of Charleston in a 7:00p.m. contest on October 25. Furman def. UNCG 31-29, 30-27, 30-20 | ||
