FURMAN VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO UCI 3-1

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado -- Kelly Wing recorded 33 kills to lead the University of California-Irvine to a 30-15, 30-27, 29-31, 30-27 victory over Furman in volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Air Force Invitational.

The Lady Paladins, now 5-6 on the season, were led by seniors Abby Simon (Simpsonville, S.C.) and Carrie Rowley (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) who contributed 16 kills a piece in a losing effort. Laura Bush (Kingsport, Tenn.) chipped in 10 kills in the loss while junior setter Michelle Cauldwell added 49 assists for the Lady Paladins.

Wing, who also recorded five service aces for California-Irvine, was assisted by setter Ashlie Hain's 64 assists and 15 digs.

The Lady Paladins will face Georgia State in their final tournament game Saturday while California-Irvine, 5-1, will face Air Force.
