FURMAN VOLLEYBALL REBOUNDS WITH 3-2 VICTORY
OVER NORTHERN ARIZONA

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado -- After falling 3-0 to Air Force in an earlier match on Friday, the Furman volleyball team bounced back to defeat Northern Arizona 3-2 in the nightcap of the Air Force Invitational.

Furman won the first two games 30-28 and 30-27, but slumped in the middle, falling 30-25 and 30-20 to the Lumberjacks. In game five the Lady Paladins stormed back to take the 15-9 win and secure the match, improving to 5-5 on the year.

Furman was led by senior Abby Simon (Simpsonville, S.C.), who totaled 17 kills, while Laura Bush (Kingsport, Tenn.) added 16, Amber Montague (Plano, Texas) contributed 13, and Carrie Rowley (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) and Julia Fredrickson (Dallas, Texas) each totaled 10. In addition, Rowley recorded a team-high 12 digs, while Bush tallied a season-best nine blocks.

The Lady Paladins will face California-Irvine and Georgia State Saturday in the final day of competition at the Air Force Invitational.
