BUSH EARNS 1,000TH CAREER KILL

WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia -- With 12 kills in Furman's final match of the William & Mary Hi-IQ Tournament on Saturday, senior Laura Bush (Kingsport, Tenn.) became just the ninth woman in Furman history to tally 1,000 kills in her career.

Bush entered the season tied with fellow senior Carrie Rowley (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) in 10th on the all-time kills list with 966 each. After the season-opening tournament in Williamsburg Bush has 1,005 to rank ninth all-time, while Rowley is just one kill away from this milestone, with 999.

Rowley will have a chance to break the 1,000 kills barrier on Friday, September 6, when Furman faces Gardner-Webb in a 7 p.m. match at Timmons Arena.
