Furman Volleyball Falls To Georgia Southern In Southern Conference Tournament Semifinals

Davidson, N.C. ­ Southern Conference Player of the Year Martina Veiglova registered 31 kills to lead the Georgia Southern Eagles to a 30-24, 30-28, 27-30, 30-21 victory over Furman in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Volleyball Championships Saturday afternoon at Davidosn's Belk Arena.

Senior Laura Bush (Kingsport, Tenn.), playing her final match as a Lady Paladin, led Furman with 19 kills and a .317 hitting percentage. Senior Carrie Rowley (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) had 12 kills and 13 digs, while Abby Simon (Simpsonville, S.C.) added 13 kills and 12 digs for the Lady Paladins.

Furman finishes its season with a 21-14 record, while Georgia Southern (26-8) advances to the tournament championship match to face the winner of Saturday night's match between College of Charleston and Davidson.
