YOUNG EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH EARLY PRACTICE;

ROHAS INJURED IN FIRST PRACTICE

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman volleyball coach Michelle Young expressed pleasure with her team's focus and work ethic Wednesday, during the second day of preseason practice.

"The freshmen who are healthy are really exceeding even our expectations," said Young. "Meg Rohas (Midlothian, Va.) sustained a broken bone in her foot during our first practice and will be out about six weeks, but Rosey Cashman (Faribault, Minn.) and Julia Fredrickson (Dallas, Texas) have been very impressive."

Young added a word of praise for the four-person junior class. "Our junior class is key, and they returned really focused, in great shape, and ready to work. They got stronger and faster over the summer and you can just tell by the way they are practicing that they really want it this year."

The team will continue with early morning conditioning, followed by a 3:30 practice session for the remainder of the week.
