FURMAN CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS SWEEP THE CITADEL INVITATIONAL
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Furman junior Kevin Crosby ran a 26:19 on the 8K course at James Island County Park to pace the field as the Furman men and women swept the team competition at The Citadel Invitational in Charleston, S.C., Saturday morning. Crosby, a native of Matthews, N.C., won for the second time in as many weeks after taking first place at the Pre-Southern Conference meet in Charleston on September 21. Grady Powell joined Crosby in the top five by finishing fourth with a time of 26:42. Matt Goodwin (6th), Tyler Johnson (8th) and Ben Whitaker (9th) also finished in the top ten for Furman. Senior Bev Roberts and sophomore Whitney Kay Sharp paced the Lady Paladins to victory with third and fourth places finished, respectively. The sweep was Furman's second straight as a team. The Paladins and Lady Paladins return to action on October 12, when they host the Furman Invitational.
