WOODSON SETS SCHOOL MARK IN 100M

ATHENS, Georgia -- Furman sophomore Candii Woodson set a new Furman women's track standard Saturday with a mark of 12.14 in the Georgia Relays' 100m dash.

Woodson placed fourth in the field of 17, four tenths of a second behind Savannah State's Ninita McCan, who took the victory. Woodson's time eclipses the mark of 12.17, set in 1996 by Salima Fountain.

In addition to Woodson's performance, senior Monica Hill, a nine-time All Southern Conference selection, placed fourth in the 400m low hurdles, with a 1:08.25 showing. Also, the Furman 4x800m relay squad, consisting of Julie Stackhouse, Molly Mungovan, Suzanna Bailey, and Sarah Johnson finished second behind the hosting Bulldogs with a 9:39.54 mark.

Furman's men's and women's track teams will be in competition again this weekend at the Clemson Invitational.
