LADY PALADIN TRACKSTERS SIXTH, MEN EIGHTH AT SOCON CHAMPIONSHIPS

JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee -- Furmanšs Lady Paladin track team compiled 35 points to finish sixth in the 10-team field, while the Paladins were eighth with 27 points out of nine teams at the 2002 Southern Conference Track Championships in Johnson City, Tenn.

Julie Stackhouse led the way for the Lady Paladins, winning the 800m run in 2:12.95, while Bev Roberts took sixth in 2:23.25. Monica Hill finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a showing of 1:02.30, while Pam Truman scored points in the discus and javelin with finishes of eighth and seventh, respectively.

Kim Roush took sixth in the 10,000m run with a time of 4:12.17, while Candii Woodson finished seventh in the 100m dash in 12.68. Erin Howard rounded out Furmanšs individual scorers with an eighth place showing in the 1500m run (4:57.43), while the 4x100m and 4x400m relays squads each finished fifth.

On the menšs side Regan LeBlanc earned the lone Paladin victory with a mark of 187š7˛ in the javelin. Kevin Crosby scored in both the 10,000m (4th,32:45.20) and the 5000m (6th, 15:33.44), while Grady Powell added points in the 1500m run with a fifth-place time of 4:03.23.

Hercules Collins rounded out the individual Paladin scorers with a mark of 16.10 (6th) in the 110m hurdles, while the 4x400m relay squad placed seventh.

LeBlanc and Stackhouse each earned one all-conference honor for their victories.
