FURMAN'S CROSBY WINS TWO EVENTS AT EMORY RELAYS

ATLANTA, Georgia -- Furman sophomore Kevin Crosby led the Paladin track team to an eighth place finish in the 18-team Emory Relays on Friday and Saturday, with victories in the 1500m and 10,000m events.

Crosby posted a time of 3:59.02 in the 1500m run, topping second place Brooks Crislip of West Virginia by more than two seconds. Crosby followed up his 1500m victory with a first-place time of 31:33.04 in the 10,000m run, where he took a 10 second advantage over the second-place finisher.

Other outstanding performances of the weekend included a second-place mark of 171'3" by Regan LeBlanc in the javelin and, on the women's side, a victory by Kim Rousch in the 10,000m run, with a time of 39:38.95. In addition, Tara Baxter placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 9'6" and Monica Hill placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.47.

The Furman tracksters are off next weekend in preparation for the Furman Invitational, scheduled for April 13 at the Irwin Belk Complex for Track and Field/Kelsey-West Track on the campus of Furman University.
