The Furman mens' and womens' Cross Country teams finished ninth and eighth respectively on Friday, at the Great American Cross Country Classic in Charlotte. Furman ran among some of the top schools in the region including, Duke from the ACC and both Georgetown and Virginia Tech from the Big East.

The Furman men were paced by Tim Briles' season best 25:18 in the 8k race, finishing 31st out of 190. The Lady Paladins were led by senior Jill Braley's 19th place finish out of 202 runners with a season best 17:40 in the 5k. With this finish, Braley ran a career best time for the third consecutive week.

The Furman men and women runners will compete again on Friday September 29 as they travel to Boone N.C. for the Southern Conferece Pre Meet.
