Furman Women's Cross Country Wins Citadel Invitational

Charleston, SC - The Furman women's cross country team finished first and the men's team finished fifth at The Citadel Invitaional on Saturday. Lady Paladin Jill Braley won the Division I Women's race with a time of 18:10. Tim Briles was Furman's top male finisher placing seventh with a time of 25:59.

The Lady Paladins boasted four finishers in the top ten places. Dana Smith finished second for Furman and fifth overall with a time of 18:43. Runners Lory Gray and Lynley Roberts finished seventh and tenth respectively. Grady Powell was the Furman men's second finisher placing 14th with a time of 26:40.

The Paladins next meet will be the Furman Invitational held on Furman's golf course October 14, 2000.
