The Lady Paladins started out slow, losing all three doubles matches. Laura Ganzer and Christyn Lucas defeated Caroline Bentley and Jacqueline Eckert 8-3 in the number one doubles match. The Gamecocks would clinch the doubles point when Ayako Suzuki and Miranda Gutierrez won at the number three position with an 8-5 decision. Magda Wojdylo and Danielle Wiggins swept the doubles for the Gamecocks after defeating Shannon Moore and Lisa Bornt-Davis 8-5 at number two doubles.

In singles, Furman would take two of the six matches played. The top three singles players for South Carolina finish their matches easily clinching the match at 4-0 for South Carolina. Furman went on to win their first match of the day when Bonnie Baird defeated Gutierrez 6-3,4-6,6-4 at number four singles. Junior Fallon Koon, earned Carolina's final point of the match by defeating Lauren Welch 6-3,6-0 at number six singles. At number five singles, Caroline Bentley defeated Wojdylo 3-6,7-6(3),1-0(9) to make the final score 5-2.

The Lady Paldins hit the road again this weekend with a match against Syracuse at 10:00 on Saturday and Virginia Tech at 11:00 on Sunday. Both matches will be played in Blacksburg, VA.
