LADY PALADINS FALL TO NO.29 PEPPERDINE, 6-1

MALIBU, CA -- The Furman women's tennis team opened its California trip with a 6-1 loss to 29th-ranked Pepperdine. The loss drops the Lady Paladins to 3-4 on the year while Pepperdine improved its record to 6-3.

The Waves of Pepperdine overpowered Furman winning all three doubles matches. In singles action Pepperdine captured five of six matches in straight sets. The lone win for the Lady Paladins came when Caroline Bentley downed Merve Asimgil 6-1, 6-4 in the No.3 slot.

The Lady Paladins continue their road trip Wednesday when they take on UC-Irvine at 1:30.
