FURMAN MEN AND WOMEN FALL TO GEORGIA TECH

ATLANTA, GA -- The Furman men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Atlanta Saturday to take on Georgia Tech . The Yellow Jackets came out victorious in both matches by a score of 6-1. The Furman men dropped to 4-9 on the year while the Yellow Jacket men improved to 11-5. The Lady Paladins fell to 6-7 with the loss, and the women of Georgia Tech improved to a 9-5 record.

In women's action, the Lady Paladins fell behind early, losing all three doubles matches. Furman never could get it going, also dropping all five singles matches. The Lady Paladins picked up a point in the No.6 singles slot winning the match by default.

The Furman men did not fair much better, losing all three doubles matches and five out of six singles matches. The Paladins picked up a point when Patrick Fillnow defeated Jose Luis Muguruza 6-2, 7-5 in flight two singles.

The Furman men open conference play tomorrow, taking on Davidson at 1:30. The women travel to Chattanooga, TN to take on conference rival Chattanooga at 11:00 Sunday morning.
