FURMAN WOMEN'S TENNIS DROP 7-0 MATCH TO NO.13 CLEMSON

GREENVILLE, SC -- The Furman women's tennis team was shut out for the first time this year Friday dropping a tough match 7-0 to No. 13 Clemson. The match, which was Furman's sixth match against a ranked opponent this year, dropped Furman to 5-6 while Clemson improved to 9-2.

Clemson took an early one point lead after capturing all three doubles matches. In singles action Clemson sealed the match by winning their first five matches in straight sets. In the last match of the day Furman's Bonnie Baird battled hard but lost a tough three setter to Ioana Paun 6-0, 6-7(4), 10-4.

The Lady Paladins return to action on Thursday March 18, when NC State visits Mickel Tennis Center. Match begins at 2 PM.
