SOUTHERN HIRES FORMER RICHMOND STANDOUT WESLEY KOHL

GREENVILLE, S.C.-- Furman University women's tennis head coach Debbie Southern announced that former Richmond Spider standout Wesley Kohl will become the Lady Paladins' first full-time assistant coach today.

Kohl, who completed her collegiate career in 2000 after four years of competition for the Spiders, tallied a 32-20 singles mark and 16-12 doubles record during her time at Richmond.

"I feel lucky to have her," said Southern. "She's really energetic and team-oriented. As a player, I know that she was a tremendous fighter. We're just excited to have her."

Southern and Kohl will head up a Lady Paladin squad coming off what many believe to be Furman's best ever season, a year which included a 23-4 mark, Southern Conference regular season and tournament championships, and a first ever victory in the NCAA Tournament against Southeastern Conference foe LSU.
