FURMAN'S SHANNON MOORE NAMED SOUTHERN CONFERENCE WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Southern Conference announced today that Furman's Shannon Moore was tabbed the women's tennis player-of-the-week.

Moore, a freshman from Lewisville, N.C., picked up three wins last week for the Lady Paladins, including two against conference opponents. Moore started the week with a 6-3, 6-1 win over ETSU's Courtney McInnis at the No. 5 spot on March 12. She then picked up a 3-6, 6-2, (10-6) win over Ana Stiglic of 19th-ranked Clemson on March 15 before stepping into the No. 4 position and defeating UNCG's Kate LaCoste 6-1, 6-2. Moore is 5-5 overall this season with two of those setbacks coming against nationally-ranked individuals.

The Lady Paladins will next face the Wofford Terriers at 3:00 p.m. in Spartanburg on Thursday.
