FURMAN LADY PALADIN DOUBLES TANDEMS IMPRESSIVE AT CLEMSON FALL INVITATIONAL

CLEMSON, S.C.-- The Furman women's doubles teams made an impressive showing today at the Clemson Fall Invitational as each flight championship featured a Lady Paladin duo.

In flight one action, Furman's Mary Kovarik and Caroline Bentley defeated teams from Air Force and Georgia before falling to Clemson's Julie Coin and Laurence Jayet 8-5 in the championship match. In flight two play, Furman's Mary Neill Hagood and Marti Morris beat tandems from Troy State and Winthrop before they were defeated in the title match by Auburn's Isabel Rosenbrock and Sarah Suitor, 8-3.

Furman claimed a flight three championship when Krista Thomson and Shannon Moore defeated Clemson's Ana Dolinska and Ioana Paun, 8-5. To get to the final, Thomson and Moore defeated Clemson's Sunnie Harmon and Ashlea Bowen and a team comprised of Air Force's Mariko Esannson and Troy State's Emma Heffeman.

The tournament will continue tomorrow with two rounds of singles.
