NO. 52 RANKED LADY PALADIN TENNIS TOPS CHATTANOOGA, 6-1

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The 52nd ranked Furman women's tennis team downed Chattanooga 6-1 in a crucial Southern Conference match Sunday, April 7th at the UTC Tennis Complex. The win, which marks consecutive conference victory No. 38 for Furman, moves the Lady Paladins to 16-3 overall and 6-0 in league play.

Furman swept the Mocs in doubles action to go up 1-0 before claiming five of six singles matches to clinch the victory. Megan Dunigan, ranked 59th in the nation, Gene Holman, Mary Neill Hagood, Natalie The, and Caroline Bentley each recorded victories for Furman.

The lone Lady Paladin defeat came at No. 2 singles, where Cynthia Oulevay beat Furman's Mary Kovarik, 6-3, 6-4.

Furman will return home to face Western Carolina on April 10 at 3:00 p.m.
