THREE TOP RANKED TEAMS TO COMPETE IN FURMAN FALL CLASSIC THIS WEEKEND

GREENVILLE, S.C.- Three teams and four individuals ranked in the top 40 will highlight the field at the 15th annual Furman Fall Classic women's tennis tournament, slated for this weekend at the Mickel Tennis Center on the campus of Furman University. The Classic features No. 4 ranked Vanderbilt, No. 17 North Carolina, and No. 21 South Carolina.

The Classic, which also includes players from Furman, Clemson, Middle Tennessee State, Iowa, and Wisconsin, is made up of seven singles flights and four doubles flights. Play will begin at 9:00 Friday morning with one round of singles, followed by two rounds of doubles starting at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday's singles matches are scheduled to kick off at 9:00 a.m., and the doubles championships will be held beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The singles finals will begin on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

Last year's tournament was dominated by schools from the Southeastern Conference, as Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Tennessee combined to take six of seven singles draws and all three doubles draws.
