FURMAN'S MEGAN DUNIGAN EARNS SOCON WOMEN'S TENNIS CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Southern Conference has announced that Furman's Megan Dunigan and Davidson's Meggie Patterson have been named the Women's Tennis Co-Players of the Week for April 15. This is the second time Dunigan has won the award in 2002.

Dunigan, a senior from Oak Ridge, Tenn., picked up three SoCon wins at No. 1 singles in her final regular season matches at Furman. She topped Western Carolina's Kristin Munn 6-1, 6-1 on April 10, defeated Georgia Southern's Amy Bartlett 6-4, 6-1 on April 12, and ended the week with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Gabriella Moreira of College of Charleston on April 14. Dunigan is 22-0 on the season and 9-0 in conference play.

Furman (19-3, 9-0 SoCon) will play the winner of the Georgia Southern-Western Carolina match on Friday at 9:00 a.m. in the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament in Charleston, S.C. The Lady Paladins are seeded first in the tournament.
