FURMAN FALLS 6-1 TO GEORGIA TECH IN WOMEN'S TENNIS


GREENVILLE, S.C.- Furman's Lady Paladin tennis team fell to 8-8 on the year Saturday with a 6-1 loss to the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech (8-6) at the Minor Mickel Tennis Center on the campus of Furman University.

Junior Megan Dunigan picked up the Lady Paladins' lone victory of the day, winning a 7-6 (2), 6-0 decision over Tech's Debbie Reynolds at number one singles. Three other singles matches went to three sets, but Meredith Moore lost to Jaime Wong 6-1 in the third set at number two, Emelie Isaksson fell 6-2 to Mason Miller at number four, and Shellie Cochran dropped a 6-2 decision in the third set to Laura Ozolins at number six, giving Tech the decisive victory.

Tech also won the doubles point with victories in all three matches.

The Lady Paladins will host Chattanooga on Tuesday, March 27, at 2:30 p.m.
