NO. 68 FURMAN WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS DAVIDSON

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The No. 68 Furman women's tennis team handily defeated the Davidson Wildcats 6-0 on Saturday in Davidson, N.C. The win moves the Lady Paladins to 11-8 overall and 6-0 in the Southern Conference.

In singles action, Meredith Moore, Gene Holman, Natalie The, Emelie Isaksson, and Shellie Cochran were all straight-set winners. Krista Thomson was leading Gayle Jones 7-5, 3-2 when the match was suspended due to inclement weather.

In doubles, Furman swept the Wildcats to earn the doubles point. Dunigan and Moore defeated Davidson's Yasa Hilu and Elizabeth Moreno 8-0, while Furman's Holman and The were 8-4 winners against Wildcats Jones and Kelley Cantrell. Thomson and Cochran completed the sweep with an 8-5 victory against Katherine Hatch and Lindsay Offut.

The Lady Paladins will gun for their 27th consecutive Southern Conference win tomorrow against Western Carolina in Cullowhee, N.C. Play will begin at 3:00 p.m.
