FURMAN SWEEPS CHATTANOOGA IN WOMEN'S TENNIS ACTION

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Furman women's tennis team (9-8, 4-0 Southern Conference) shut out Chattanooga (8-9, 3-3 Southern Conference) this afternoon, 7-0, in a Southern Conference matchup held at Mickel Tennis Center. The win was Furman's 24th consecutive victory in league play.

The Lady Paladins opened the match by sweeping the Mocs in doubles action. Furman's Megan Dunigan and Meredith Moore defeated Mocs Catherine Allen and Cynthia Oulevay at No. 1, 8-5. Natalie The and Gene Holman were 8-3 winners against Daniela Greco and Katie Hangstefer. Lady Paladins Krista Thomson and Shellie Cochran completed the sweep with an 8-6 victory against Jaclyn Wooten and Saskia van Velze.

In singles play, Furman failed to drop a set as Dunigan, Moore, The, Emelie Isaksson, Thomson, and Cochran earned impressive victories against the Mocs.

The Lady Paladins move on to face East Tennessee State this Friday at Johnson City, Tennessee.
