FURMAN WOMEN'S TENNIS WINS 23RD CONSECUTIVE SOCON CONTEST

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Furman women's tennis team (8-7, 3-0 Southern Conference) defeated College of Charleston in a 4-3 thriller at Mickel Tennis Center to win its 23rd consecutive Southern Conference tennis match.

College of Charleston opened the match by taking two of three doubles matches, thus earning the Cougars the doubles point. Furman's lone win in doubles action came at No. 1, where Megan Dunigan and Natalie The defeated Cougars Vinny Seiverling and Liorah Levin, 8-6.

The Lady Paladins then went on to win four of six singles matches. Furman's Megan Dunigan, Natalie The, and Emelie Isaksson were all straight-set victors. With the match tied 3-3, Lady Paladin Meredith Moore defeated Marcella Valkenhoff in dramatic fashion 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to clinch the victory.

Furman will next face Georgia Tech tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at Mickel Tennis Center.
