Assistant Coach Mark Wellington


Mark Wellington is in his first year as assistant coach with the Lady Paladin tennis program.

A 2000 graduate of Bethune-Cookman, Wellington earned Academic All-America honors his junior year, while majoring in biology. At Furman he is pursuing a master's degree in health and exercise science.

In addition to his collegiate playing experience, Wellington has worked Coach Paul Scarpa's tennis camps for four years and was the assistant director in the summer of 2000. In addition, he was an assistant women's tennis coach at Bethune-Cookman in 1999-00, leading the team to the NCAA Tournament and its first national ranking.

A native of London, Wellington enjoys sports, exercise, and travel. His duties at Furman include overseeing the team's conditioning, on-court instruction, and coaching during dual matches.
