Furman Women's Tennis Blanks Appalachian State 5-0;
Advances to SoCon Championship

Chattannoga, Tenn.-- The Furman women's tennis team blanked Appalachian State 5-0 Saturday in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Women's Tennis Tournament.

The win move the Lady Paladins one step closer to their third staright SoCon Tournament Championship. Furman was led by Megan Dunigan's 6-1, 6-0 victory over Vanessa Manicom at No. 1 singles. Meredith Moore, Gene Holman, Emelie Isaksson, and Natalie The also earned straight set victories for the 5-0 win.

In two tournament matches thus far the Lady Paladins have not lost a set and have not had to play doubles as they have clinched the victory in singles competition. Furman has now won 63 of 64 conference singles matches this season.

Furman improves to 17-7 on the season.
