A talented junior with lots of big game experience... Hits with two hands off
both sides... Hits the ball incredibly well on the run... An easygoing personality,
but has a unique fire on the court... A determined player who gained a lot of
confidence with an impressive victory over highly ranked Celine Regnier of South
Carolina in the NCAA Tournament.
1998-99: Had a solid sophomore season that was capped by a 7-5, 6-1 victory over South Carolina's Celine Regnier in the first round of the NCAA Tournament... Posted an 18-8 overall singles record, mostly at No. 2 singles... Compiled an 8-1 regular season SoCon mark... Recorded an impressive victory over N.C. State's Nena Bonacic 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles... Finished with an 8-13 overall doubles mark at No. 1 doubles with Sara Rosenblum and Gene Holman... Helped lead the Lady Paladins to second straight Southern Conference tournament championship and first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance... Earned All-Southern Conference honors and was tabbed the conference's flight champion at No. 2 singles.
1997-98: Completed an extremely successful freshman season with a team best 15-5 record at No. 1 singles... Won key singles matches over Chattanooga's Karolina Glowacka 6-2, 7-5 in the SoCon Championship Match, Davidson's Dana Casner 7-6(3), 6-1 in the SoCon semis, Old Dominion's Luciano Araujo 6-7(7), 6-1, 6-4, Clemson's Stefanie Woerz 1-6, 6-1, 6-4, and N.C. State's Blair Sutton 5-7, 7-5, 6-4... Tallied an 8-10 doubles record with four different partners... Teamed with Liz Bell to defeat Davidson's Claire Cheatwood and Clara Marks to clinch the 5-2 victory in the SoCon semifinals... Earned Southern Conference Freshman-of-the-Year and All-Southern Conference honors.
High School/Junior Tennis: Led Forsyth Country Day to the 1996 NCISAA State Championship... Won the state singles championship during both junior and senior seasons... Named PACIS conference player-of-the-year in 1996 and was a four-time all-conference selection... Received Forsyth Country Day MVP award three times.. Earned a ranking of #3 in North Carolina... Received the North Carolina Qualifier Sportsmanship Award during sophomore year.
