FURMAN MEN SHUT OUT CHATTANOOGA 7-0

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Furman improved to 11-11, 7-1 SoCon Friday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Complex with a 7-0 sweep over the Mocs of Chattanooga.

Allen Simmons and Brian Crook picked up a win at No. 2 doubles over Thomas Knizat and Tim Kutschera and Furman's Ben Pauluhn and Greg Maarschalk took their No.3 doubles match against Josh Bales and Mark Fynn to give Furman the early lead.

In singles, Furman dropped only two sets, and won all six matches to complete the sweep. Senior John Chesworth picked up his sixth straight win at No.1 singles with a victory over John Hangstefer 6-3, 6-1.

Furman will return to action on Wednesday, April 14 in Greenville, S.C. when they take on Wofford.
