FURMAN TENNIS PROGRAMS SET FOR BIG WEEKEND OF DUAL MATCH ACTION

GREENVILLE, S.C.-- The Furman men and women's tennis teams will travel to the states of Tennessee and Alabama, respectively, for key matches against highly ranked programs this weekend.

The Furman men (2-1, 0-0 SoCon), ranked 75th in the country, will begin the weekend with a showdown against the 51st ranked Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders at 3:00 p.m. EST on Friday. The Paladins will then travel to Nashville where they will face 28th ranked Vanderbilt at 12:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, a team Furman defeated 4-3 during the 2002 campaign. The Paladins are coming off a weekend during which they swept the Emory Eagles and the Elon Phoenix at the 2003 Furman Shootout.

The 62nd ranked Lady Paladins (2-3, 0-0 SoCon), meanwhile, will travel to Auburn, Ala. to face the homestanding Tigers and the Florida State Seminoles in a couple of key dual matches. After Furman squares off against 29th ranked Auburn at 3:00 p.m. EST on Friday, the Lady Paladins will face the 56th ranked Seminoles at the same time on Saturday. Furman will look to improve upon its 0-8 overall record against the Tigers and 1-2 mark against the Seminoles.
