MONTGOMERY, Ala.-- The 63rd-ranked Furman men's tennis team slipped to 6-8 on the year when the Paladins dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 53 Indiana State at the Blue/Gray Tournament in Montgomery, Ala. on Saturday.

The Paladins started the match by taking the doubles point. At No. 1, Ben Pauluhn and Andrew Rogers defeated Henry Choi and David O'Connell, 8-6. James Cameron and Will Kieffer won their flight two match against Verdan Vidovic and Lovre Brajkovic, 8-1, while Chris Henderson and Allen Simmons edged Dmytro Ishtuganov and Ivan D'Argence Areco 9-8 (4) at No. 3.

Indiana State rebounded by taking four of five singles matches to clinch the victory. After Vidovic defeated Cameron 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1, Ishtuganov held off Rogers at flight three 6-2, 7-5. Choi then earned a 6-4, 7-6 (2) triumph at No. 4 against Simmons, while O'Connell beat Furman's Ryan McCarthy at No. 5, 6-3, 6-1.

Furman's lone singles victory came at No. 2, where Henderson defeated Brajkovic in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

The Paladins will next travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
